Brooke Magnanti’s scars or Belle de Jour’s scars

I only post this link because our site has received an extra­or­di­nary, and increasing, number of hits on these search terms even though there is no infor­ma­tion on the topic here. I can only assume that the search hits have occurred because I have dis­cussed my own sur­gi­cal scars fairly exten­sively and there is one, maybe two, ref­er­ences to Dr. Mag­nanti else­where on this site.

Dr. Mag­nanti has posted a beau­ti­fully writ­ten, and I should add very open, dis­cus­sion of her scars and what they mean to her. It is a very mov­ing piece. If you just need to know why she has scars, her writ­ing will tell you; and I feel sorry for you. If you want to learn a lit­tle about liv­ing life with vis­i­ble defor­mi­ties and how many among us are so cruel to peo­ple so inflicted, this is a must read.

Finally, if my post­ing this and bring this sub­ject up in any way offends Dr. Mag­nanti, I offer my deep­est apol­ogy. I mean no offense. I am only post­ing to try to direct those who are search­ing the topic to your state­ments so they at least learn what you have said not what any of the Web’s rumor mill might be saying.
