Brooke Magnanti’s scars or Belle de Jour’s scars
I only post this link because our site has received an extraordinary, and increasing, number of hits on these search terms even though there is no information on the topic here. I can only assume that the search hits have occurred because I have discussed my own surgical scars fairly extensively and there is one, maybe two, references to Dr. Magnanti elsewhere on this site.
Dr. Magnanti has posted a beautifully written, and I should add very open, discussion of her scars and what they mean to her. It is a very moving piece. If you just need to know why she has scars, her writing will tell you; and I feel sorry for you. If you want to learn a little about living life with visible deformities and how many among us are so cruel to people so inflicted, this is a must read.
Finally, if my posting this and bring this subject up in any way offends Dr. Magnanti, I offer my deepest apology. I mean no offense. I am only posting to try to direct those who are searching the topic to your statements so they at least learn what you have said not what any of the Web’s rumor mill might be saying.
Is Still Here
