- One of the Memorable BISH Graphics
Having spent a good twenty years producing and presenting thousands of slide presentations and now the last seven to ten years sitting through an average of twenty, or perhaps more (the mind numbs after a while) Microsoft PowerPoint presentations a week; I believe I seen a good mix of what can be done with simple computer presentation graphics. Most attempts are mundane, but get the point across. A few are complete failures and a best forgotten. A very, very few are memorable and deserve to be praised.
The most memorable computer presentation graphics are not always the most elaborate. Sometimes the most creative are made from the simple shapes available in standard presentation software. It is the way the shapes are combined and presented and how the graphics are used to convey a message that makes them so memorable and remarkable.
One of my favorites of these most memorable examples is the graphics of Justin Hancock’s site BISH. BISH is a website about sex and relationships for young people based in the UK. Justin’s graphics tend to be fresh, bright, and very refreshing. Take, for example, this image and accompanying text from his “Guide to Dating”:
Ok I’m being a bit silly here; of course you’re gonna wash if you go on a date (right?). But the reason I mention it is that it’s important to feel sexy. So spend a bit of time to make yourself correct. Have a nice hot shower, or a bath. Put on your lucky pants, favourite T shirt and make sure you smell lovely.
I just love the razor and green tattoo on the guy and the glasses, necklace, and spray of perfume on the girl.

BISH is a great site that handles an important topic with a great sense of humor through very creative use of simple computer graphics. It is well worth a visit. And besides that, Justin Hancock is a pretty great guy.
